We only process personal data of our users to the extent necessary to provide a functioning website and our content and services. Processing takes place on the basis of consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), for the performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), or where processing is necessary to safeguard a legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
When you visit our website, our hosting provider automatically collects information in so-called server log files that your browser transmits automatically:
The legal basis for the temporary storage of this data is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and smooth operation of the website). The data is deleted once it is no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected, typically after 14 days.
Hosting provider for this website: IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany.
If you contact us by email, your inquiry, including any resulting personal data (name, inquiry), will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request. We do not pass on this data without your consent. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) and/or (f) GDPR.
My DiGiControl licenses are sold through our payment provider and merchant of record:
Paddle.com Market Limited, 30 Old Bailey, London, United Kingdom, EC4M 7AU (company no. 08172165) ("Paddle").
When you purchase a license, Paddle acts as merchant of record and reseller for the transaction, and as an independent controller for the data collected during checkout: your name, email address, billing address, payment details, and IP address. Paddle processes your order, issues the invoice/receipt, collects and remits any applicable sales tax or VAT/GST, detects and prevents fraud, and handles related customer billing support. This data is collected and processed directly by Paddle, not by us. Details on Paddle's data processing are available in Paddle's own privacy policy at paddle.com/legal/privacy and buyer terms at paddle.com/legal/buyer-terms.
After a successful purchase, we receive only the data needed to fulfill and support the license from Paddle (e.g. name, email address, purchase history, license identifier, purchase date) in order to generate and deliver your license key and provide product support. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract).
During checkout, Paddle may set its own strictly necessary cookies for fraud prevention and payment processing, which are outside of our control.
We do not store complete payment data (e.g. card numbers) on our own systems. License fulfillment data (email address, license identifier, purchase date) is retained for contract performance and due to commercial and tax retention obligations (Sec. 257 German Commercial Code (HGB), Sec. 147 German Fiscal Code (AO)) for up to 10 years.
To manage purchased licenses (e.g. license keys, activation status, usage entitlement), we process the data provided as part of the purchase for the duration of the business relationship. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Our website itself does not currently use cookies for analytics or marketing purposes. Strictly necessary cookies may be set by our payment provider Paddle during checkout (see Section 5). Should we integrate additional services in the future (e.g. analytics tools, embedded content), we will update this policy and, where required, obtain your consent in advance.
Your personal data is only transferred to third parties for the purposes stated above (hosting, payment processing) or where we are legally obliged to do so.
You have the right at any time to:
